About You
The programme was fun and engaging, especially the second week. The sessions in the first week were interesting and usually engagingly run. The second week in a school was wonderful, with so many kind and helpful people around you.
Schools loved to have us in, and were very grateful for our contribution. They made us feel very welcome, helped us with our lesson plans and went out of their way to give us extra opportunities.
In school - as much as we could possibly need. There was also some available in the first week, though this was not always easy given how many of us there were.
A huge amount. The programme was a great confidence boost and learning how to give presentations and teach lessons is a vital skill for any degree.
The Company
It was very carefully structured, with a variety of sessions in the first week and a clear timetable in school for the second week.
Great - everyone was extremely friendly, excited to be teaching, and the department I was with in school
They gave us a very basic outline of how to plan and lead a lesson. Obviously given that it was only 2 weeks it was quite difficult to develop many skills a lot, but it was clear they wanted us to do so and then move into the full Teach First programme later.
Very helpful - going into a school and teaching a lesson was a thorough and fascinating simulation of the full Teach First programme.
Lots - we were given immediate and extensive access to Teach First, its staff and its values, with lots of presentations from staff members.
Very good at selling the 2-year programme.
Everything Else
Paid reasonably and expenses were covered.
Lots of opportunities to mingle with other people on the programme and introductions to staff at other firms connected with Teach First
Good social events and the opportunity to get close to other people in your local area.
Access to the summer projects, and lots of social events.
The first week maybe, the second week definitely.
