The Role
It was a great experience. I was able to learn a variety of different skills and gain a different and unique perspective of how a internal service team runs within a large global firm. I was bale to visit two different countries in my time doing my placements which was fantastic and really fun.
I have been valued supported and cared for a huge amount, which has been very significant for me. My teamhave shown how much they value my company as well as the work that I am doing, in numerous different ways. Through verbal communications, feedback, rewards and recognitions. This is something I will keep and record for my future.
I have had amazing guidance and have been taught so many different skills by numerous different members of the team. The support and care I have had throughout has been amazing for me, through numerous different situatiosn I have felt as though my team will help me where ever they can.
I managed 2 portfolios, I had very busy periods and periods where my workload would be at a good level. In the quieter times I would work on other things and prepare for further down the line to ensure that processes ran smoothly. It was a good balance and I never felt too bored at all.
This reflects how much the team valued my work. I was able to work very independantly from early on in my placement. Guidance was given where necessary, however the team were proactive in allowing me to take lead in my role, and manage it myself. This level of responsibility was supported by other members of my team and allowed me to develop significantly.
Time management is a key skill which I have learned and it will hopefully help me when manage my time with uni work in the future. Managing my work load effectively too, by prioritising single tasks, will help me massively when I go back to Uni. I have learned a significant amount from work that the firm has done and reports and news which I will be able to use in my work content at uni.
The Company
The atmosphere in the team was always positive and cheerful. Conversations are always very interesting, there is a good balance between working and socialising. Everyone is very friendly and very caring and supportive. I feel very comfortable in my team and look forward to seeing everyone in the office. Our socials are fun and the team days are always great!
This is not a reflection of the team I work in. I was introduced into my role with a lot of support from my collagues who were able to teach me a lot. I think that the wider placement process could have been managed in a slightlyu different way. I felt as though the placement project whould have been more mixed and engaging for all placement students in all different roles. I felt the topic was interesting but could have been more generic so that all students could have an equal and fair input. I felt as though there was a clear divide between HC and marketing and I felt more integration would have been useful and better for use all. However, I have enjoyed working at PwC and I do feel as though the placement has been fantastic, these are just tweaks I would make for better netwroking and engagement with the placement role outside our initial teams
The placement project is a great idea to get students to work on something outside their role and with other people in different teams. The firm has so much digital tarining on offer and I have been lucky enough to be a part of these. The team days have been very insightful. I will take a lot of new skills away from me and I believe PwC is a firm which invests a lot in its employees, which has been reflected in my experience.

I would love to work for PwC in the future, I have had a fantastic exzperience working for the firm and I strongly feel that it is the best big four and global firm that I could work for, from the training they provide to their employees, to the benefits and wokring culture. It is a great firm.
The Culture
I felt there could have been more socials organised amongst fellow placement students and more interaction would have been great between regions. The team that I worked with had a good number of socials, but not as many as other teams.
I was living at home which reduced costs significantly for me when working and travelling to london. Socialisign in London is expensive.
London is great for nightlife but expensive.
There are volunteering opportunities which you can get involved in at PwC as well as societies and sport events.
