    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I wanted a problem solving job, and a job with freedom, a job with tasks that were challenging that helped me develope. This placement was just that.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was treated like family. Supported when ever needed.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was supported very well if i ever needed to be. Eg. balancing work and home life. This is something I had never experianced before.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Very Busy - but loved it. Alot of target driven work e.g. if it wasn't done shipment wouldn't occur.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I did all day to day tasks 'normal' employees did and i did large scale projects but not 'capital projects'.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills i learned were above and beyoned anything University could offer. Extream time management, brill comunication skills, dealing with differing opionions and it was 'real peoples lifes the job was effecting'.

  • Was organised but easy going most of the time.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I performed jobs that were there to be done - real life not really set up for you things just needed doing so I was given them to do. I always had work to do though.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The job it self developed me. I was however given responsibilities to train others etc and trained to do that.

  • i currenly work with them.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes there are other interns hired and we did go out together a fair few times.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • North East of England so fairly cheap.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Newcastle: Party Capital of the UK in my opionion.

  • Yes i did conservation and we have a sports and social club.
