    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I found my experience with Savills a fantastic insight into the business and property industry. It has been particularly helpful for my studies in writing reports, accuracy of calculations and the importance of confidentiality. The staff were particularly helpful and approachable, and it was a great opportunity to network with other staff from firms across the country.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My month at Savills has definitely given me valuable information which I can apply to my third year of degree studies. For example, report writing and how to structure a report professionally and efficiently. There are a lot more elements in a report which can now be included my work at university for the future year.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • I found the insight naturally well structure as the internship took lace over a particularly busy time in the office, therefore plenty of projects and jobs were to be completed within the four weeks. It was fortunate that I was involved in no more than three or four projects at one time because I was able to follow through an entire process and generating a better understanding.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere within the office was lively and friendly. It was interesting to hear about the various staff events that go on inside and outside the office. Listening to others in the office was particularly useful as a lot was learnt from their conversations with clients, offers and new instructions.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I found that a lot of time during each day was invested in my training. I was immediately launched into assisting with projects that the company receive on a day to day basis, which meant I had staff's trust and resect within the office. An appraisal was undergone at the end, summarising my experience and what I thought of the course.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The content of each day was extremely valuable, particularly the networking talk on helping graduates apply for their scheme. From these talks, I have learnt a lot about what Savills has to offer and there are a lot of pathways one can take within a single business. Networking drink afterwards enabled me to talk to other employees from other offices to gain further information.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I thought this was an extremely reasonable and generous reward for the end of the Internship. I was not expecting any payment and was very grateful. No expenses were incurred, therefore was not expecting this. The payment made me feel that the work undergone was definitely worth it and I was well looked after throughout.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were plenty of opportunities for me to meet different companies and other members of Savills from other offices. Various Networking talks and drinks took place throughout the four weeks, as well as a touch rugby event in Winchester. These enabled plenty of socialising mixed in with good quality work.

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would definitely recommend the Savills Summer Scheme to a friend. It is a fantastic opportunity to make new contacts in and around the office, and partake in various social events.
