  • During my time at Savills, my work load varied on a day to day basis. I believe on average I was always busy and had something to be getting on with. I also was busy going to networking events such as The South of England Show and Cereals. If ever I left like I had nothing got do, I would always enthusiastic to be given more work.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • My team but a lot of trust in me, when helping with different projects. My main responsibility over the course of the month was ensuring that all the mapping for different estates was done accurately and correctly. • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I believe the summer scheme was organised very well by the Savills graduate team.. I was constantly informed on what I needed to be doing and how my month would pan out. I was given a very good introduction to the company and had feedback with the graduate team on a regular basis.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Unfortunately I was only with the company for such a short length of time that I don't believe the company had much opportunity to invest in me. However, I did have appraisals to keep record of how I was getting on. I believe with more time I would have had the opportunity for proper training.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would very much considering future employment prospects within Savills, I believe it is a very good organisation to work for and they are renowned for their 'graduate scheme' which is something that I am hoping to get involved with in a couple of years. It would be a great company to work for.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Although there was only a few fellow students, everybody was very sociable and on several occasions when went for drinks and things after work. I believe it would have been more sociable with more people in the same situation as me, nevertheless I still enjoyed my time socialising when I did.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I was living at home during my time of my internship, therefore I wasn't having to pay of living and accommodation which was ideal. However, Winchester being such an impressive city - came with expenses of drinks and certain costs. The public transport around the area is also quite pricey.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I was only working for a short amount of time so I never had the chance to experience the nightlife in Winchester. However, many people say that the bars and restaurants are very busy and good fun. However, it is definitely not known for its nightlife and I doubt there are many clubs.

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Unfortunately because I was only with the company for such a short amount of time, I didn't have many opportunities to get involved with other activities. However, I attended around 4 'networking events' such as Cereals and South of England show. These were great fun and enabled me to meet many great contacts.
