    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • A wide variety of creative tasks and a supportive, inspiring and collaborative team have made working at Warner Bros a joy. It has been a privilege to work on exciting projects with great people while learning a lot about working in industry and developing skills that will be invaluable in my future career.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • There is a strong sense of belonging within the team and the friendly atmosphere meant that despite being an intern I was treated with the same level of respect as a member of senior management would. The large number of diverse skill sets and perspectives within the company complement each other well and helps provide an efficient, supportive working environment.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Initially there was some disruption to supervision and one-to-one support/feedback as my line manager moved on to a different company. This was soon rectified through shifting line manager temporarily until a new direct replacement was hired. The one-to-one meetings provided an incredibly helpful two way conversation on both my professional and personal development.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Due to the nature of the work, there were often busy periods around title release dates and marketing campaign beats. Support mechanisms were in place to provide assistance to help meet deadlines and to minimise stress. Even in quieter periods there were still tasks to be completed around reviewing processes in order to improve them. Because of these reasons a healthy workload was sustained.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • The tasks I completed during my internship were not insignificant and if not completed within a certain deadline could have caused disruption. I was relied upon a number of times throughout the year but never under too much pressure as the team structure meant that assistance could be allocated were necessary.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think that the skills developed throughout my internship have benefited both my career and personal life. Also, I think many of these skills will be useful in any future career as they are transferable to any type of work. This internship has provided a safe environment to experience realistic work in industry with opportunities and support in place throughout the programme.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone got on and would help and support each other where necessary. There was always an opportunity for your opinions to be heard. The department had many diverse personalities that despite being different all worked well together both collaboratively in a team and socially as an extended group of friends.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • From the very first day there was a strong sense of structure to the internship. Whether it was through the induction meetings through HR, training sessions set up by the learning and development team or regular catch-ups with your line manager there was always a sense of progress and development.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There were a number of training sessions throughout the year covering a variety of topics such as presentation skills, personality types, specific technical skills. These sessions have helped not only my professional development in the workplace but also outside of work in my personal life as many skills and techniques learnt are valuable life skills and are not limited to work within the company.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Though there is no graduate scheme in place there are examples of employees within the company that used to be interns and have come back. If there was an opportunity to come back to Warner Bros I would definitely be interested based on the great experience I have had during my internship.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Due to the number of interns in the company you really feel like a part of a year group of interns. This, along with the fact that everyone was in the same situation, meant that people got on well. Many social activities were organised by other interns on a regular basis with larger scale gatherings happening on special occasions in the year.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Being based in London meant that rental prices for accommodation were quite high. This led to my decision to live at home and commute to work everyday. In terms of food and drink, though many places were expensive there were some that cost less. It was a matter of knowing where to look.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Due to living at home and commuting everyday my experience of the local nightlife was limited however it seemed quite lively and there was a variety of places to go and have food or drinks. Being based in London, there is large number of venues to choose from and the tube/bus services make it easy to get somewhere.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • 3/5
