  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • From the beginning of the placement year to finish, proper support was provide. Starting off with monthly training days at the head office in Staines to help you gain and develop skills that will help you in your daily activities. Most training is done on the job, however, the immediate manager and line manager would frequently check up on you to see if there's any areas you are struggling with & what can be done to ensure you are over achieveing on your goals & you are confident in the sales and service you provide

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Every day is a different day which means you experience new things, deal with new situations and learn/develop new skills regularly. However, there are periods within the year whereby you experience a very busy day e.g. Christmas, Easter etc. But you are provided with the support form your team and managers to make it through the day. Personally, even after a very tough day, when its all over and you are closing down the branch for the day, its a rewarding feeling knowing you've done your best and it's paid off.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • You have very few responsibilities when you first begin the placement year, however, day after day as you progress, you will be issued with new roles and responsibilities. This helped to have proper exposure into all areas of the business - sales, marketing, admin etc.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Skill gained and developed over the course of the placement year has really helped me to become a mature professional individual. Communication & interpersonal skills to be able to speak your customers professionally and appropriately, also being able to tailor the skill to your audience which will really help once i go into a graduate job Time management - to be able to manage and use your time effectively because you are not only focusing on yourself but also how your time management will impact the branch, your team and customers. This is another of many skills that will help in future careers

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work, however, being a customer orientated business, there's no guarantee that you will finish at a certain time to be able to go through with daily plans. However, if you have any commitments that you must attend and your manager is made aware, they will happily work around you to make sure you have enough time to yourself too.
