    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed the insight. It was a chance to be part of a team and really contribute to the work your service line was doing while also getting to gain a greater understanding of the firm as a whole and the specific work needed in your area. I found the work really enjoyable and would recommend it.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt very valued during my time; unlike a lot of insights, I was doing real work to contribute to the team. I was asked opinions and encouraged to ask questions and as if my opinion was relevant at all points of my placement. Overall, I think there was a strong sense of your value of being here.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received a lot of guidance throughout the process from different members of the team. The student recruitment team made themselves very available to answer any questions you had during the week. Within my area, I was able to get guidance for my work whenever I needed it from my buddy.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The information I have received will be very useful in my degree but more importantly beyond. The skills I have learnt here and what I have seen has made me want to work in this service line more and I will therefore aim to take these forwards when applying to jobs in the future and working.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • I feel the insight was well structured. Putting the assessment aspects at the back end of the week gave you a chance to actually work without the worry of being assessed that day. The only thing I would say is that the information regarding how you would be assessed that we received beforehand could have been more clear.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere was very good. No matter what situation I was in or who I was talking to, everyone endeavoured to make sure I understood what was happening and was more than willing to answer any questions that I had. This made the whole insight a lot more welcoming and means I feel as though I've come away learning more than I could have.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 3/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The insight really helped me to understand what it would be like to have a full time role; through being able to spend time with people who are at different levels within the firm, I was able to see what each of their day to day work is like and how they differ.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • 3/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The content was very valuable because it was what I would be doing within this career path. Through completing tasks that graduates would do when they firs started, I was able to see what it would be like to start working here full time and pointed me in the direction of this career.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were not any networking opportunities as such. I met a few employees who were not part of the programme but not through planning and a meeting between other students taking part in the programme was organised from within so I feel this is an area that could be better.

    2/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • 3/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Since I was on a programme that is related to a concept within the business, we were spoken through the opportunities available in this concept, but also touched on different ones that are also available through other areas to the employees.

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would recommend this insight highly to a friend. The support offered throughout has been really great and I feel as though I am leaving with not only a career path but also a solid understanding of what sort of qualities one needs for this service line but also the career it would entail.
