The Role
I have enjoyed my work placement with Johnson and Johnson to a large extent. It has given my invaluable experience which has helped to shape my future plans. I have been challenged but also supported which helped me settle in easily to working here. It has given me the confidence that I will now succeed in the future.
I have felt valued by my colleagues. They have supported me throughout and have given me the confidence I have needed to succeed during the placement. By giving me important tasks which are necessary in the running of the business it has made me feel like a valued member of the team
I have been given a lot of support by my supervisor through the weekly meetings I have had with them. We had a mid term review of my progress which helped me to understand where I could improve and where I was doing well. This has helped me succeed in the placement
I was busy throughout the placement. It started off a bit slow but once I had learnt all the systems and software required I was able to actively participate in the running of the business and pick up more tasks which ensured that I was busy on a daily basis
I was given a decent amount of responsibility where by my tasks were essential to the effective running of the business. This made me to feel like a valued member of the team. As time when on I was given an increasing amount of responsibility as I improved on the job.
The skills and training I have developed and received will help me to achieve in the university and my future career. I have learnt valuable career skills which I will be able to transfer to a variety of fields. This placement has given me good habits regarding time management and I am ready to succeed in my final year of University.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was good. It was relaxed and it helped me to settle in easily but it was also serious when it had to be.
The work placement was well organised and it made it easy to settle in and flourish during the placement. We had a short cross over period with the old placement students who helped me if I had any issues, this was good because it gave me a bit of breathing space in case anything went wrong in the first few weeks
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
There are a number of Graduate Schemes which seem promising and by doing a placement with Johnson and Johnson I can now bypass some of the screening process during the application process for the Graduate Schemes. This has given me the confidence to pursue a career with Johnson and Johnson
The Culture
The cost of living in Leeds is relatively cheap. There is accommodation which is suitable for all budgets.
My placement was in Leeds and the nightlife is exceptional. There is something for everyone no matter what you prefer. It is a large city with a big student population who contribute massively top the nightlife. It is as safe as any other city and is a great base to have.
