  • 8 - I have really enjoyed my placement at Johnson & Johnson. The team I was placed in a UK finance team, there was a great team environment, and everyone was so welcoming which helped me get the most out of my placement. There were some great outside of work events and opportunities to get involved with as well.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • 9- I was given great supervision by the mangers I worked for. I had regular 1-1's each week focusing on both my development and the work at hand. This gave me a great place to raise any challenges I had and find a way to best deal with these. This was vital to my positive experience at J&J. Finally, we have been give mock assessment centres to helps prepare for applying to the graduate scheme or other jobs after the placement year.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • 8 - I was kept very busy on my placement which is the best way for a placement to be. Year end is a busy period in finance it with the role I was undertaking especially for me. Boredom can set in if you are not busy on placement so I’m happy with how busy I was and if at any point I felt as though I was struggling help was on hand on how to manage the work load.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • 7- I had much more responsibility on placement than I thought I would have had. This was a great bonus to the placement, at the start it can feel daunting to be left with such responsibility, but it is a key point in feeling part of the business and seeing the effect of the work you carry out.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • 6- Placement has help me develop a few key skills to carry into my final year of university. These are skills that can only be developed in a work place and by undertaking a placement year. The most important of these I feel is time management which will be crucial in managing work load.

  • 6 - The office enviroment is warm and welcoming and I enjoy the team and area I am placed In. The office is becoming slightly run down and so there are always a few issues with the fittings. However this is due to change with the office to move locations.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • 6- I worked in Maidenhead which is relatively expensive to work in, so I decided to live in Reading instead. This meant a 40-minute drive but helped me reduce my living cost. The nice thing about Maidenhead is it is a nice area and not too difficult to go into London after work.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • 6- Maidenhead is quite a quite area for nightlife with not a lot on offer. However, living in Reading improved this. With Reading University there are a few good nights out to get involved with and more going on hence why I choose to live there. There are a few nice bars and the riverside is a good place to be.
