The Role
I loved my placement at PwC, I learned so much about the financial industry and the company. This was really important to me because this is the area I want to go into once i complete my degree. I got some great exposure to different clients, loads of amazing people and experiences
I felt so valued by the team here. Even though it is a big team, I have been very lucky in my role to ave really good communication with lots of different people, not only in my team but across the firm. The treated me really well and were always willing to help.
I worked in the management team as a support role these past 11 months. The management team have given me the resources and the knowledge in training that i can execute the job I need to, to a high standard that supports management in the operations of the daily business.
This depended on the week. I was always very busy on certain days, these were the days that I had reports and packs that needed to be sent out by certain times. Other days it depended on the management team and if they needed support in any activities or procedures.
I was working on my own a lot the time supporting the management team, therefore I was the only person doing this so I had a enough responsibility. The management team trusted me and therefore I was left to my own devices to continue with the work they had set and would check in to make sure it was quality.
The placement did not apply directly to my degree, but this suited me as I know that I do not want to pursue a degree in the economics area. I received training for presentation skills and other useful team building exercises that I found really useful and will use in the future.
The Company
A real positive atmosphere, even on a monday morning when you would expect the office to be sad and miserable we had activities such as our Monday mingle to brighten your morning. Other activities that boosted the atmosphere was a quiz on Fridays as well as sitting beside your team mates.
Very well Organised. I knew about my placement well in advance, this gave me time to plan holidays before the start date. I was consonantly updated before placement and throughout with different opportunities, any extensions and what my final date would be. The BP Peer group was introduced before the first day too which was helpful
Training and development was always a click away through the PwC portal. Also on the job training was readily and frequently available. As I was the first placement student in my rle, they were not sure what training I would need. Therefore it was a lot of on the job.

The Culture
It was great! We all got on really well! I have made some great friends here at PwC that I will continue to see when I finish my placement. The social scene was great with a friendly pint on a friday or a big social event only around the corner
Belfast is decent for a good night out. There are a lot of clubs and great bars that have live music. We experienced a lot of these as a Work group and a placement group. Everyone was keen to get involved and it was only a short walk from the office to the main bars in town
