    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I enjoyed the insight a lot. It was an excellent experience in terms of gaining a better understanding of what J.P. Morgan as a firm does, seeing the different departments within the firm and hearing what employees had to say about the work life there. There were various activities done throughout the day which made it very enjoyable.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt very valued throughout the day due to the ways in which they spoke to us - as potential employees at the firm.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I recieved a lot of guidance and support. From the very start of the week, we met all of the recruiters who oversaw everything we did during the week - we could ask them questions, ask for advice etc. We also gained support from speaking to people in their Business Resource Groups and just from speaking to different employees.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • In terms of my degree studies, it has encouraged me to learn new skills outside of my university degree such as Python programming. Aside from that, it just helped me decide if a financial environment is something I'd like to work in after my university studies. Additionally, it has helped me with things such as personal brand.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • It was very well structured. The structure of the spring week was given to us in a booklet to show us what we were doing at what time. We were escorted to rooms when necessary, had quite a few breaks during different activities etc.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was very enlightening in terms of gaining new knowledge. However, the atmosphere was also very relaxed. We were encouraged to dress less informally than suits which was quite refreshing. Additionally, the atmosphere was very supportive

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I would stay they invest in you quite strongly which is evident from the start of the week in the ways in which they speak to you - as potential employees and not just students. They gave us many opportunities to network with employees too which was very essential in my opinion.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The spring week gave us a pretty good understanding of what it would be like in a full time position. By asking employees what an average day at work was like, we could understand what a typical work day was like depending on your department or your job role at the firm

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight helped me understand the company culture and the values which they hold. For example, going to the BOLD BRG talk helped me understanding the work that J.P. Morgan are doing to help BAME candidates. Even the Social Responsibility talk allowed us to see what JP are doing to help disadvantaged candidates.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • It was very valuable - it helped me to decide that a future in finance was something for me

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • You had the option to have your expenses reimbursed if necessary.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were many chances for networking and meeting other employees - at least one session a day. It was very relaxed and unsupervised so you could ask all the questions you wanted.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • They were quite good. The first day we went to a Sipping Room where you could have a drink and network with all the other spring weekers. There were also other opportunities like the Employee Lunch where you could have lunch and just speak to various employees and gain an idea of the work they do.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes. We found out many teams may do their own activities outside of work.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Most definitely. I would recommend this to anyone regardless of their course just to see what a firm like J.P. Morgan does.
