    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • To a great extent I enjoyed my placement, I was given a huge amount of responsibility and really learnt the ins and outs of digital marketing. Disney is one of the leading entertainment companies in the world and to be given an insight into how the dynamics of such a global company works was really valuable.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • A huge plus about Disney is the amazing support network your colleagues give you and my team were so supportive and nurturing throughout the whole year. My team are not only my colleagues but my friends as well and by having loads of socials and team outings it has created an amazing environment to work in.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had weekly 1-1 where I discussed my projects that I was working on, talked about how I was personally getting on, set targets and goals and this really helped shaped my year and guidance by my manager has helped me get everything out of the placement I've wanted to.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was constantly busy and working on loads of different exciting projects. Having something to always do that requires 100% effort and input really shapes how you work as an individual. I was always pushed to the best of my ability to be working on as many exciting things as possible.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given huge amount of responsibility. I ran my own competitions and managed platforms and agencies by myself. The amount of trust I was given was great and it definitely has helped me to use initiative and solve my own problems. I definitely didn't feel like I was doing just 'intern' jobs.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have definitely learned skills for life that will be transferrable when I get another job. There are just some things you can't learn at uni and my time at Disney has helped me fulfil those certain aspects like interpersonal skills and working and communicating with people from around the world.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was an amazing atmosphere in the office. there is always an event or activities going on or some kind of movie screening you can go to! Everyone is super friendly and welcoming and on your floor it becomes everybody knows everyone and its a really relaxing place to work in.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • 3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Disney do offer lots of training courses that the learning and development team offer to all employees. However, having attended some it feels as if they are catered to more manager and higher level employees so it could be improved if they offered more intern targeted courses and events for us to learn.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I'd feel very comfortable in saying that I would be welcomed back to the company if there was a vacancy. Disney are also very good at passing names about which opens up even more opportunities in different areas of the business which is really great. However, Disney don't offer specific graduate schemes.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • there was a great social scene amongst fellow placement students. There are over 200 interns at disney so you never feel like you're the only one about and we have a huge facebook group and chat where we can all socialise. we also have an intern ball that all of the disney interns can go to.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • 3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
