    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I found the placement very helpful and insightful. I completed the 2 day talent academy and left feeling hopeful and excited for the future. The two days were spent discovering more about the various areas within the company and the opportunities that those areas can provide. Various networking opportunities also proved extremely helpful.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • While there wasn't much work to be completed as the two days were purely insightful, there was a project to be completed. The title of which was provided beforehand. I found that doing this project was great and the adjudicators listened intently and were very encouraging. I definitely would say that I felt that I felt valued throughout those 2 days.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The 2 days were spent in the Culloden Estate and Spa, where both PWC staff as well all the Hotel staff made you feel very comfortable. The Student Recruitment team were amazing and willing to answer any and all questions, even the support leading up to the insight days was fantastic.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I found that the skills I developed were mostly networking skills, I got to meet a lot of people within the company and all at different levels within their departments. These skills will certainly follow me into my future placements and internships, hopefully still within PWC. I find myself to be a confident communicator however there were definitely opportunities within the 2 days to build upon those.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • On arrival we were presented with a lanyard which laid out the following 2 days. I found this to be extremely helpful, everyone kept these around their necks for the whole 2 days which meant that everyone knew where to be at all times. It was great! Groups had been preassigned and these changed for each activity so it was a brilliant opportunity to meet new people.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was one of excitement, everyone there was looking forward to what the next few days would bring. The student recruitment team as well as us as students were all very friendly and it was easy to relax into my time there and enjoy it. I would 100% recommend this to anyone who is interested in a career within the company.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The aim of these 2 days wasn't to train however it was more of an insight into what PWC can offer. On the final day there was an opportunity to attend 'Personal Brand' and 'Assessment Centre' classes. These were very helpful for future insight days and the upcoming assessment centre.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Speaking the current members of staff and recent graduates helped me to discover more about what areas of the company I am the most interested in. As well as this it was interesting to hear more about what every day life is like within the company as well as discovering more about possible travel opportunities.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • There was plenty of insight provided as this I believe was the main aim of the 2 days. It was great to learn more about the dress for your day policy as well as social events that are organised for employees. All this information helped me to learn more about the company.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Each day we were taken to electives on the various areas of the company, this was valuable as it provided a greater insight into which areas I found the most interesting, as well as those which I don't think would be the best fit for me. On top of this I found the networking sessions helpful to see how various departments work and what they each can offer.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • All expenses were reimbursed up to £100 and all food drink and accommodation was covered by the company. The £100 covers fuel, flights and public transport. A form is provided to fill out for these to be reimbursed. As well as this, breakfast lunch and dinner was fully paid. Drinks were provided at dinner as well as snacks and tea/coffee were also available during the day. Rooms were fully paid for also.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes. The dinner was a brilliant opportunity where partners from the company came and spoke to us about their journey throughout the company. As well as this throughout the day there were opportunities to network within groups to current member of the PWC teams and with students also within the insight scheme.

  • A dinner and social event were organised for the night of the first day. This was good fun and a great opportunity to meet the students who are also on the same path. Networking was also great at this event, I have discussed this in much more detail within the above questions.
