Spring Into Deloitte Review

I enjoyed the insight thoroughly. It was great to gain a deeper understanding of what a role at Deloitte may be like. I enjoyed meeting people from a variety of different backgrounds, employees and fellow students alike. It was a very fun experience and I would definitely recommend that you apply for the programme no matter your academic background.

I felt highly values within the firm. Deloitte definitely made it feel like they were investing a lot of time in developing our understanding of the firm, going as far as to bring in a guest speaker to give a talk on professional body language. I felt like it was an extended interview, where they learn more about you as you also learn more about the firm.

We received plenty of support and guidance both during and following the event. We were encouraged to ask any questions we may have had after each section of the event and we were able to meet Deloitte employees from a variety of different areas so that we could help us during the event and answer our area-specific questions.

The skills we developed during the event will be very helpful during the remaining years of my studies and beyond. An important part of the programme was presenting our work to the rest of the room. This really helped in developing my confidence and I felt that this will be very helpful in the future.

The insight was extremely well structured and we were all given a booklet which outlined exactly what we would be doing over the two-day event. We were constantly working on something and I never felt like I was just sitting around not learning anything. This meant that despite the event being short, I learned a lot overall.

The atmosphere was fantastic. It was the perfect mix of relaxed and professional, even down to the dress code. My favourite thing about Deloitte was the people. Everyone I have met at events, from other students all the way to partner, has been very kind and enjoyable to be around.

As I mentioned before, the firm invested heavily in all those on the programme. We were also given the opportunity to fast track our applications to the summer internship the following year which was definitely a large positive of the event. We were given plenty of support and many opportunities to ask questions.

The event gave a deep insight into what a role at the firm would look like. Over the two days, we were introduced to a variety of different areas in which Deloitte operates and were allowed to meet the people that work in these teams and ask them questions about their area.

Every Deloitte event I have attended has been very enjoyable mostly because of the people I have met. We had a dinner on the first night and got to sit and speak to more junior employees for hours. They were able to provide a great understanding of what it would be like for me to join the firm as a junior.

It was very insightful and helped me to choose which area I wanted to apply for during the summer vacation scheme. Whilst you don't get to hear about every area of the firm you do gain insight into tax, technology consulting, and audit. I would still recommend the event for anyone looking to apply for another area.

We were reimbursed travel expenses, all meals were paid for over the two days and we were checked into a hotel overnight.

During the event, we were able to speak to many employees and had plenty of opportunities to network.

There was a whole section during the event in which we were told about all of the outside of work events. We were told about the different charity events that employees have taken part in and were also shown all of the benefits that can be expected if you join the firm full-time.
