    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I enjoyed the insight programme very much. I was able to be exposed to lots of factors that can characterise DLA Piper: core values, main initiatives, culture, key practice area sectors, people, and a discussion with managing partners.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I definitely give 10. DLA Piper is the number one international business law firm consisting of good people valuing each other. It is what I felt from the insight programme. Despite having very busy and fast-paced three days, I also was able to have time to communicate with four people from the graduate recruitment team.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I had a dietary issue. Therefore, throughout the three days, DLA Piper provided me with allergy-free foods. Also, DLA Piper graduate recruitment team guided and supported me to be myself comfortably throughout the programme. You are really expected to be guided and supported.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Through the M&A simulation game, we were expected to develop effective teamwork skills. The information that I received was basically about DLA Piper's key values, sector-focused practice areas, key initiatives including pro bono, DLA Piper people, and DLA Piper's business approach.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The programme was well structured holistically, consisting of practical experience, DLA Piper-focused information, insights, and communication. It was a very fast-paced programme. Even though students were always given time to go to the bathroom between sessions. However, some people had to leave the room during the session to go to the bathroom. Aside from it, I consider that the structure was holistically well-structured!

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere was 'warm and benign'. I think no more word is needed. You are very welcomed by DLA Piper graduate recruitment team, lawyers, and all DLA Piper people. Also, you can feel that you are being supported. It is a general atmosphere and I think it was wonderful.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • DLA Piper's insight programme is designed for not personal training but team training. Thus, this question does not fit the DLA Piper case. They prepare various things with different themes through which you can develop yourself in a team. Also, the question is hard to be directly answered since the word 'invest' is vaguely defined in the question. Obviously, DLA Piper invests a lot in attendees. I can rate 10. If you attend the programme, you will figure it out what I mean!

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • You can meet trainee solicitors, associates, and partners of DLA Piper. It means that you will see lawyers who are in different stages in their career at DLA Piper. You can empirically understand what it would be like to have a full-time role with DLA Piper.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight programme is the best way to know the culture of DLA Piper. Without exaggeration, there is nothing better than attending the insight programme to know the firm. You can understand their business, culture, people, and values at the same time.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • As I explained at the previous questions, contents were really nice and ready to be delivered to students so that they can understand DLA Piper. You can meet partners from international offices. They advised you regarding your career path: solicitor and barrister.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Due to my personal thing that I inevitably had to do right after the second day of the programme, I was not able to dine with other students. However, DLA Piper reimburses expenses up to 20 pounds for the dinner after the end of the second day.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes, again. I already provided an answer that can be the answer to this question. You can meet lawyers and employees from all levels. Also, when we had lunch and dinner break time, we were always expected to mingle with lawyers and employees.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • It was nice. Sometimes, some students in the future can also think that networking time is a bit short. However, it is inevitable due to the limited time. If you feel comfortable with enjoying the networking time, you will get what you want.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes. all attendees were able to know what employees can get involved. The additional activities are related to DLA Pipe's culture and initiatives.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I think I do not need to write long. My answer is 'yes'. If you can attend, I recommend the programme. Also, I met good people who were on the same page. We exchanged LinkedIn and scheduled to meet later again. You can meet your future colleagues. Hence, I recommend it!
