About You
I absolutely loved my time at DB! It was very informational and great exposure to the industry. As someone who had little knowledge of CIB and the finance indsutry, it majorly helped me decide to pursue a career in finance!
Very valued! Everyone was happy to talk to me and wanted me to be there, which I know is uncommon, especially amongst the big banks! All teams I shadowed welcomed my silly questions and HR was always there for support. The only time I thought spring interns could've been given more attention was during lunch hour - we weren't given a designated area to eat, and there are no places around DB with enough space for all of us. We tried coming back into DB but were asked to leave everywhere we went - which I completely understand, but in the future, it would be great if the spring interns could just be designated a room to stay in. Apart from that, it was great.
A lot of guidance - the whole week was about giving us as much exposure as possible!
I learnt a lot not just about the finance industry, but particularly what sets DB apart, in terms of its culture and the way the departments function. The week helped me decide to pursue a career in finance, and for that, I will be forever grateful to DB! I also learnt so much about networking and was given the opportunity to ask anything that came across my mind.
The Company
Very well structured! All in all it was a great week.
Always fun, always something happening, never a dull moment, always learning.
A lot. We had training on the first two days and then shadowing opportunities in the next two days. It was obvious that DB put a lot of effort and thought into hosting us.
The insight week helped me understand life at DB and what it would be like working as an analyst really well. The mixture of training with shadowing and presentation workshops, as well as assessments, was great exposure into life at the firm. DB also focused heavily on teaching us the culture of the firm and networking events and panel discussions gave us a lot of insight into what life at the firm is like.
DB is very proud of its culture, and the organisers made it very easy for us to understand and resonate with it. I spoke to DB analysts and teams during networking events, listened to senior management panel discussions, all of whom talked a lot about DB culture. We also had a lot of training and informational sessions teaching us about life at DB which was really useful.
Very - it made me decide to pursue a career in finance.
Everything Else
Yes! In networking events and also shadowing opportunities.
Great! Everyone was so welcoming and willing to answer my silly questions. Social events among the interns were also great.
Yes, DB has a lot of initiatives outside of work that we talked about, and also initiatives on campus too.
Definitely.
