    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The spring week at GS was an amazing experience. It exceeded my expectations and completely changed my vision of the banking industry. I learned a lot about the investment banking division, the finance industry in general and GS.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt really valued during the whole internship. We, as interns, had a lot of exposure, not only to other junior analysts who recently completed their spring program but also to more senior management including MD and partners of the firm.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • During the two weeks, a lot of guidance was provided. We were automatically assigned a buddy/mentor before starting the internship, and we had one-to-one feedback sessions with Human Resources at the end of the first week.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • 4/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The internship is very well structured. The schedule is quite intense, especially during the first week. For the Investment Banking Division, we did training and an M&A case during the first week, and financing during the second week.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was great. Although I was expecting a very competitive environment, I was amazed by how all the interns were like-minded, willing to work hard and extremely smart and collaborative. Also, diversity in the group was incredible.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • All the time. We had the opportunity to interact with senior leaders and analyst and ask them questions about their roles. However, in the Investment Banking division, we could not do work-shadowing like in other divisions, due to IBD being in the private side and working with confidential information.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • A lot. Especially in GS, where culture is such a strong asset. I was amazed by the teamwork, the sense for excellence and the respect they have for each other at the firm.

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Very valuable. In my case, after the two weeks I was sure I wanted to do a summer in banking (hopefully in GS).

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • GS paid for my transportation and accomodation costs + a salary per week

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Plenty of opportunities to network with current GS employees.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • 5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
