    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The insight provided a very good overview of Rothschild&Co's divisions. Presentations were given on each (M&A, Debt Advisory, Equity Advisory, Wealth and Asset Management). We were also able to shadow analysts in different divisions to see what they did on a daily basis and ask them any questions we had.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • It was clear that a lot of very busy people had taken time out of their day to speak to us. Presentations about divisions within Rothschild&Co were given by senior people who had been with the firm for years. We were able to shadow several analysts. HR also organised practice interviews for us with analysts. When we presented projects we were working on through the program, it was in front of a panel of senior bankers.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • There were lively Q&A sessions after each presentation. During work shadowing analysts lead us through some excel work and had informal Q&A chats with us. There were also skills sessions throughout the program. HR organised a really good interview prep program with analysts. After our final project presentations, senior bankers gave us feedback.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The program provided really good interview skills and practice. There were also speaking and presentation skills sessions. We had to do a project and present in front of senior bankers which also developed skills.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Very well organised! It was a full schedule but well balanced between presentations, interactive activities, work shadowing, and project work. We were never sitting listening to presentations for too long and the program was kept interesting.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • As the program went on, the environment became more relaxed and was overall very enjoyable. Both HR and any bankers we spoke with were extremely nice and encouraged us to take the next steps and apply for a summer internship. Rothschild&Co has a supportive culture and the general atmosphere was never intense or competitive.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There were speaking and presentation skills sessions. Ample feedback was given to us through the program. HR equipped us with a extensive book of questions to help prepare for interviews and offered practice interviews with analysts. It was clear they invested a lot into us and really wanted us to advance on.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • We had work shadowing sessions with analysts. Not only did they show us what they did, what deals they were working on, ect, they also had faily long conversations with us in small groups about what the role was really like.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Company culture was stressed in each presentation. We got to see the floors where everyone worked and the vibe was very collaborative. We were also given a history of the Rothschild&Co family and taken on a tour of their archives.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Detailed presentations on the different divisions with Q&A sessions afterwards. We also shadowed analysts in different divisions and were able to ask them what their role was like and how they chose it.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Any travel expenses were reimbursed. Free breakfast on the first day and coffee and tea the following days. Free lunch everyday. The company ordered pizza for us when we had to stay late to work on our assigned projects. There were also farewell drinks with appetisers on the last day.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • We got to shadow different analysts and had lots of access to them (2 spring interns per analyst). We also had practice interviews with analysts. Senior bankers who gave presentations on their divisions always stayed and answered tons of questions.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Farewell drinks on the last day. Long lunches each day to get to know the other interns. We were divided into groups to work on projects and got to know each other very well through this.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • We had a whole presentation on community investment and the different programs Rothschild&Co offers its employees. They told us about volunteering, pro bono advisory, and tutoring opportunities that are encouraged by the firm. We also saw many employees tutoring local kids in communal spaces in the office.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Very nice people and invaluable info and prep for taking the next steps (whether it be a summer internship or grad role). Presentations were very good and engaging. Work shadowing was excellent for informal Q&A and looking at what an analyst does.
