  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

  • I was definately made to feel like one of the management team

  • I had regular meetings with my mentor and manager, discussing my progress, development plan and identifying areas where i could develop

  • I always had lots of jobs to do but never felt overwhelemed

  • I was given a lot of responsibility from day one, often given projects to complete by myself

  • I have definately increased my confidence and improved skills such as presentation and leadership skills

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was a great relationship between myself and the other comercial managers. We all got on very well and i was never treated any differently as a trainee

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The M&S management trainee scheme is very well set up and organised, It is recognised throught the buisness.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Throught the year, 17 corportate courses were arranged for me to attend, i had a comprehensive training programme along with competencies i had to be signed off against. In addition to this my region arranged monthly training days for all of the trainee managers to attend to aid our development. If there was anything else I wanted to do to help my training I was allowed.

  • I have been invited to return onto the placement returner scheeme when I graduate. I have also stayed on part time while at uni.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were only three of us in our store but we did go out from time to time as a management team
