About You
The insight programme was beneficial because we completed various group activities and we had a clear understanding of what teaching was the where teaching could take us even if we didn't originally set out to be a teacher. I enjoyed it thoroughly as we could network and meeting other likeminded people.
I felt extremely valued throughout the programme and each person would be willing to offer help and guidance and answer any questions we had. Also, specific requests were met and this gave the impression that TeachFirst cared about the participants and went the extra mile to ensueee everyone felt happy
I persoannly received very good guidence as all my questions were answered and teach first would offer first hand support to participants throughout the programme for example if something was not clear or they would help us question issues around teaching and therefore were really supportive in this whole process
I developed the ability to network with others and this was achieved through the group work we had to complete . Also I am now able to speak ot even present in front of students which I struggled with beforehand and finally I developed the ability to work in a group
The Company
The programme was structured well with sufficient time being left for each activity . There was the right amount of time spend on each activity which ensured full concentration from other participants and this also made it engaging and at times we had to complete tasks in a set amount of time.
The atmosphere was very welcoming and the people were friendly and always willing to help out and answer any questions we had. additionally the atmosphere really encouraged me to get involved with activities and this was achieved by the multiple group activities we had to complete something I found beneficial
Teach first were very good at continuously reiterating the skills we had , the skills we have and the skills that we will obtain in the future and this gave me the impression that TeachFirst were very passionate about personal development in order to I make the best possible difference to the wider community
The taster programme was only 2 days however in this 2 days I belive the vision of the company becaome very clear and the fundamental messages and ideals which the company stand for and strive to wards became evident in the short space giving me a good idea of what it would be like to work there full time
The insight programme provided a fairly good understanding in the company culture and this was reiterated through their values and competences which were continuously echoed throoghtout the programme . And I belive that this provided the understanding that is required for the company and this was achieved in a short space.
The content was valuable because it enabled us to be self aware of our strengths and of our weaknesses and this meant that we could reap the full benefits from the programme which would help us in the long run when applying for a similar job with similar vision
Everything Else
I was reimbursed expenses so this entailed the travel expenses . I think this was a good gesture as the training will not just benefit individuals but eventually in the future the wider population and community and this shows that the company are passionate about thier vision and encourages people to join in
There were plenty of networking opportunities for example we had the chance to meet with various teachehrs headteachers and tutors and others one worked in that specific field each with a story to tell and This was useful as people could relate and benefit from those like minded individuals like themselves
The networking experience was very positive and this allowed us to meet other people our age and with similar interests and this ultimately created a positive working bond between different groups of people and we were able to meet with other like minded people and discuss things relevant to the programme
I did find out about other various activities that would go on outside the workplace for exMPLE there ere various paid and volunteering opportunities that could be accsessd to participants and as well as external networking vents and schemes that were related to the programme and that meant we could easily take part
I would most certainly recommend this program it gave me a very clear and good insight into the company and its values and has also made me more aware of my surroundings and issues that many people gave on a day to day basis and therefore I would highly recommend
