The Role
I really enjoyed my year at WorldFirst! The people I worked with, both in my team and across the company, were supportive in my development and great to work with. I also had the opportunity to get involved with areas of the business outside of my role, which allowed me to get the most out of my placement year and explore other parts of the business.
My role gave a lot of responsibility, which naturally made me feel valued by the company and my team. I never felt like the placement year student.
There was a handover period where I was able to learn the role from the existing placement year student, which allowed me to quickly pick up the role. My manager arranged shadowing during my first week, both within my team and other teams across the business, allowing me to quickly understand the dynamics of my role and the business. During my placement year, I have been able to seek support from the other colleagues in my team.
The role itself was very busy, but I enjoyed this.
I had a lot of responsibility during my placement, whereby I was responsible for one of my team's sub-functions.
The role itself involved a lot of problem solving which is a useful life skill, and transferable to future job opportunities and my degree.
The Company
Fun, busy atmosphere
Process of applying was easy, and everything was setup for me on my first day
Relevant training for the role was provided within the first couple of days. WorldFirst then continued to provide additional training sessions throughout the placement.
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Travel loan
Having done a placement at WorldFirst, and had the opportunity to explore other parts of the business during my placement, I would definitely consider returning.
The Culture
Great social environment. Regularly met with the other placement students, and my team.
London prices can be expensive, however I didn't find this too difficult to manage.
Great. Everything was easily accessible with London transport.
Yes! I had the opportunity to be involved with the Social Team, which organised work events inside and outside of work.
