The Role
It was brilliant. On several occasions the tasks I was set allowed me to challenge myself and it gave me the opportunity to progress.
I did not feel as though I was treated like a placement student. I truly felt like one of the team and as if I was a full time employee.
I had various one to ones with management to catch up with how I was getting on. I felt very valued. Management were extremely helpful.
I was pushed to do my best. It allowed me to get a real grasp of what a full time job at PWC was like.
Throughout my placement I was able to progress. Having started as an analyst and then moving up to QC, I really enjoyed being challenged and trusted with increasing responsibilities.
I improved various skills such as public speaking, presentation skills and it allowed me to develop more specialised skills such in KYC and banking. From my placement I learnt exactly the type of job I want out of my career.
The Company
It was professional but you were able to enjoy yourself with colleagues when the time was right.
I started in July and therefore there was not many projects ramping up at this stage so there was a bit of a delay before most of us were set up with projects. Once this was sorted however it was very well organised and I was always busy.
We were able to carry out various training sessions online and were also able to take part in more specialised training in group sessions.
I cannot wait to get back to PWC after my degree.
The Culture
There were lots of social sessions for us to get involved in which allowed you to meet lots of new people in the firm.
Belfast is fairly reasonable pricing wise for nights out which encourages people to go out on Friday nights.
There were lots of bars for us all to attend if we wanted on a Friday night for example.
There were lots of activities offered to people all across the firm.
