    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • It gave me a real feel of what working for the company would be like as I was placed in the department I wanted to work for.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I was placed on client sites straight away and asked to assist with more of the work than I expected. The team I was with made me feel like I belonged.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I was able to interact with both the team I was placed with and also student recruitment and IT teams within the company. The team I was with also provided information about professional exams.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • As I was placed in Assurance, I learned some skills that are useful now for the Auditing module of my university degree.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The team ensured everyone was on site for either the full duration of the insight week or a large majority of it. This meant you were able to carry out actual activities relating to the job and not just sitting around the office.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Everyone was friendly and had positive experiences of working for the company which they were more than willing to share.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was provided with a company laptop and all the software required to carry out daily activities. At the beginning of the insight I was also given a brief introduction on the system and shown how to use the most important aspects.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I was carrying out the role I wanted to pursue a graduate career in. By working on the insight week I got to see what exactly is expected and was able to get answers to any questions I had about the daily style of working from the team I was with.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The company culture was apparent from the moment I walked through the doors. Everyone was willing to assist if you needed any help.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I was able to decide from the work that I wanted to pursue the career as a graduate. The week was laid out exactly how a typical week on site would be and even had a partner visiting the site so I was able to experience that as well.

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was paid for the hours worked and reimbursed for train tickets to the client site from the office.


  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • I was able to meet a number of different employees from other sectors of the company both on site and in the office.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • There were plenty of opportunities to network with other employees ranging from the initial introduction and training, casual introductions and also a business lunch.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • The current employees of the firm were able to give details on activities they were involved in outside of work. There appeared to be a wide range of opportunities for everyone.

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • The insight week for me was a very valuable experience so I would recommend it to anyone who is unsure if it is a career path they want to pursue. Any questions or concerns I had were answered and at the end of the experience I knew it was a career I wanted to go into.
