  • The placement gave a great insight into air separation and cryogenic technology.

  • The colleagues at Air Products were great, supportive and a pleasure to work with.

  • Management was excellent, providing support when required and shedding insight to the company.


  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • More technical work would have improved development during this placement.


  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given several important tasks, allowing me to get involved with operations.


  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The safety and operational learnings were a great lesson to take to university as it gave me an industrial perspective of implemented concepts.

  • The colleagues were great, with little tension and a friendly environment.


  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There was a comprehensive induction and training package upon starting the placement.


  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm allowed for travel to various sites, work on various projects and extensive training.

  • Air Products is a great company to work for, particularly as a graduate.


    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I was not placed with any fellow students or graduates.


  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The location was affordable, with the cost of going out manageable with the pay.


  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The night life was okay, not the best not the worst.


  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were no activities with the company outwith the work place.
