About You
I throughly enjoyed my time at UTC, it gave me an insight into what I want to do and complimented my degree.
I was made to feel part of the team from the beginning, not just someone there temporarily. Everyone was so supportive and patient during my learning which put me at ease. An amazing company and team to work for!
The support I revived was second to none. A clear set of tasks was set out for me to do daily, which challenged me and gave me a proper insight into the HR environment. I was able to see how the recruitment process works and it was intriguing to see a real life grieveance case unfold. Cannot thank UTC enough for how welcome and supportive they were during my time there.
Being able to work in a HR environment really complimented my studies and made it clear to me that this is what I wanted to do as a career. For example, one of my modules at university is employment law, which has linked to many aspects of UTC’s own policies and procedures. Without my insight at UTC I feel my degree wouldn’t of been enough to develop my skills and experience in HR.
The Company
UTC had even added me to their “to do” board and had a clear plan from the start with what they wanted to do with me. Couldn’t fault how well structured the experience was.
I built up some friendships that I will keep for life! It was almost like a family rather than working with colleagues. We all bounced ideas off each other and the communication with the team was excellent.
UTC values themselves on making sure every employee is included. They were highly invested into charity work which I loved being part of.
Everything Else
I voluntarily asked to do work experience with UTC, which is what I did every Wednesday. I was more than happy to do this for free as they were benefitting me and my studies more than I was benefitting them! Of course, I was rewarded with vouchers for my work- which again they never had to do.
Being part of a HR team means that you get to meet a lot of employees. It was very interactive and I enjoyed getting to know so many people whilst I was there.
