    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Overall, I really enjoyed my 11-month placement at PwC UK. There were a few aspects like expectations management or support throughout my year which could have been improved - but overall I had a great experience.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt very valued by my colleagues as well as my supervisors. They have never treated me like an 'inferior' intern but as a workforce like any other FTE.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given enough guidance to not feel left alone during my placement. Additional catch ups were scheduled as well. However, I sometimes felt like these meetings only took place to tick the box instead of really supporting and enhancing my progress.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was as busy as any other new joiner within the same department. Even though I was never bored, I sometimes could have handled some extra workload to improve my experience throughout the placement.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given ownership of tasks and responsibilities which could be handed over to a new-joiner. Of course, I could not partake in major decision-making processes, but considering a 'placement' I was given a good amount of ownership and responsibility.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think that the skills developed are very beneficial for myself when starting a professional career after finalizing my degree. From minor soft skills to important hard skills PwC has supported my developed in a good way.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Good balance between concentration on tasks and taking a break to relax for a short while.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Well-organized work placement with hardly any questions left unanswered.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm invested a lot in my training and development. As the department I have worked in required knowledge about different aspects I did not gain in University, PwC fully trained me to work as an analyst side by side with my colleagues.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?

    Company Parties/Events

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The social scene amongst other placement students and colleagues was very very good. I spent all my free time with them and I enjoyed being in their company.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
