An incredibly informative and well organised week. Varied workshops and shadowing opportunities, giving me a great insight into the daily acitivities in commercial banking.
We were all treated with a lot of respect and taken seriously. We were always warmly welcomed by those who we were shadowing, and our questions were always answered in great detail.
Lots of support from our leader, and from those who we were shadowing. We were always given numbers, etc. of people we could get in contact with if there was a problem.
I think the skills I gained this week will be helpful for the rest of my life. The assessment centre in particular was a fantastic learning experience. I have gained interview skills that are extremely transferable.
Very well structured. We were given a series of talks and a layout of the week on the induction day, followed by two days of shadowing and the assessment centre on the final day. The timetable for the week was explained to us very clearly and all ran smoothly.
Very supportive group of down to earth people. We worked well together and supported one another. We also had time to socialise during the evenings as we were mostly placed in the same hotel.
We were given a number of workshops in order to work on skills such as pitching, presentations and teamwork. We were given the time and the support necessary to enhance these skills.
We were able to talk to two people on the graduate programme, allowing us to ask questions about their experiences and fully understand the role.
The insight showed me how loyal people are to RBS, as many of the employees we spoke with had held their positions in the company for many years. Furthermore, we met some of the leaders of the support networks in the organisation.
The insight week was incredibly helpful in showing me what I want from my future profession and the values I hold in relation to work.
My travel and stay in a hotel during the week were paid for, and I was reimbursed for a number of meals during the week and transport on the tube to the office.
Yes, through shadowing and speaking with graduates we were able to network. On the induction day a number of employees came to talk to us, giving us an opportunity to network there too.
Networking between the others on the course was very easy as we were mostly based in the same hotel/the same area of London.
Yes, we were told about a number of work events with which employees can get involved.
Yes, it was a very good experience for both learning about commercial banking and also to develop interview/assessment centre skills. This week also gives you the opportunity to roll onto the graduate scheme if you pass the assessment centre.
