    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Great experience. Steep learning curve. Really enjoyed working in an office filled with motivated colleagues and positive energy.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • You are taken very seriously as an intern and the input you provide will be valued a lot given the meritocratic structure of the firm. Great teamwork meant that everyone was on more or less equal terms.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • You are assigned a mentor and a buddy which help you at the start, but all the senior people you work with are very willing to provide you with guidance and support.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There was always something on the desk and there was always a project you could work on / help with. Good deal flow and high workload means that you will get very broad and deep exposure to the sector and companies working within it.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • A lot of responsibility from early on. You are seen as a full team member and participate in client calls, discussions with management, and work on live deals.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Very intense workplace with high deal flow means you will learn a lot in a short time span - about financial modelling, preparing presentations and working in a fast paced professional environment in general.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very friendly and a bit more on the conservative side, which I like. Very international. Everyone was very motivated and dedicated to their projects and the company, which was great!

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement contains one week of proper financial training at the start and many events throughout the whole internship to provide you with a broad overview of the whole company and all its sector teams.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There is one week of financial training at the start of the internship to make sure all interns are more or less on the same page. This contains information on excel modelling, FactSet and more.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Great firm to work for! Quality of deals and people you work with on a daily basis is outstanding.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Many social events. Fantastic atmosphere among fellow interns - everyone is competitive and bright but the company also selects employees based on their overall profile, meaning that you get a wide variety of very interesting people to grab a pint with after work.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The city is undoubtedly one of the more expensive places to work in

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Nightlife was not something I was especially looking for but there are definitely some fine venues in the city that are worth visiting. And given that the city is in the centre of London all other places are not far either.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • 4/5
