Summer Analyst Review

Better than expected! Provided me the opportunity to work with nearly everyone in the team, as well as senior members such as AD’s and D’s. HR/Recruitment team provided me with guidance ever since my first interview up to the present day which I couldn’t be more grateful for. They also held amazing events such as Go-Karting and various different drinks events throughout the internship which is highly appreciated!

Made me feel welcome as soon as I had joined the team. Everyone took part to get to know me, where I was able to go for a coffee/chat with everyone on people in the team. My buddy was superb in making sure I suited well into the team, which ultimately, I did really feel a part of.

Fantastic support - any time I needed help, I was assisted by my team leader. For instance, in my mid-review, I had asked for the opportunity to work with a member in my team as I had not had the opportunity yet. Ultimately, I was staffed on a project with him, which was a fantastic opportunity! Also, when my team leader was away for the final weeks, our team had a temporary team leader who was amazing in making sure I, (and everyone else) had felt accommodated and well-staffed!

During the earlier weeks, there were times when I found myself free. As I was able to build a rapport with the team, I was more busy on a plethora of different exercises. I had a very good balance in being able to work in a variety of exercises; ranging from performing some valuation analyses, creating asset and company profiles to assisting in the management of a virtual data room.

As stated in the previous comment, I was given significant degree of responsibility as I was able to work on a variety of different exercises. This was very much appreciated and was a highlight of the internship! What would have made this perfect is if it had more exposure to financial modelling. Although I was able to see the context and understanding behind a model, it would have been great to have some access to the detail. Nevertheless I understand that my team was very busy so this would have been difficult anyways!

In regards to my degree studies, the skills I developed will most definitely be extremely useful. I have recognised huge improvement in my time-management, attention to detail and communication, which would help me in my studies, presentations and any of my assignments that I may have in the upcoming year. The skills I learnt during the internship will most clearly help me in a career in investment banking. Many of the tasks I had done in my internship replicated and are essentially the same as that of an analyst. This is positive considering that the internship confirmed my wish to pursue a career in investment banking.

Everyone in the team was extremely professional, yet sociable, making sure to take time our for team bonding events. This ensured that the workplace was a challenging, yet rewarding environment, which explains its success in the recent years!

The internship was well organised in the exposure to our team and taking part in some other events. The only thing I would have potentially liked is a better balance/communication on the events held by Recriutment and the actual team events/exericsee

The team made sure to take the time to make me understand the context behind every single exercise. The investment in me grew even larger as the team had more trust in my work, which was seen by the fact that I had greater responsibility as the internship progressed. In terms of Rothschild as a whole, the investment can be seen through the amazing hospitality throughout the ten weeks!

The internship has a conversion process for those that performed well during throughout the duration of the ten weeks. Therefore there are clear employment prospects within the bank. Considering that I did feel that I had performed well during the internship, I must have a chance!

Supportive and cooperative Intern Class who were very friendly! Many of which will definitely remain friends ahead of the internship.

Expensive but expected in the City of London.

Rooftop bars, coffee places and garden parks were not very far from the bank.

Considering the nature of the job, there was still time as it was never a necessity to work on weekends; it was more of our choice / if we still had some work to do!
