    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed my internship very much. The opportunities I had were not only invaluable but fun. This combination allowed me to get the best out of the internship. I was given interesting and engaging assignments to complete. This ensured I enjoyed my internship as much as I was able to.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt valued throughout my time on the internship program at PwC. I was made to feel welcome and involved on every engagement by my colleagues. Workmates ensured I was completing valuable work for clients so there was never any doubt in my mind that I was a valuable asset to the team.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was always looked after by management and my supervisors without compromising my independence. I was always coached on new tasks and given regular feedback on my performance and ability. The time taken by supervisors to ensure I understood the task in front of me allowed me to perform to the best of my ability.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was usually appropriately busy throughout my time on the internship program. I was given job every single day, many lasting a whole week. However, towards the end of the week work often dried up so I regularly had little to do on friday afternoons, not that this is a bad thing!

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • All of the tasks I completed added real value to the operation and audit that was being completed. Management ensured I was never given work for the sake of it. I worked hard to ensure the work I completed was of high enough quality to be used in final procedures.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have developed many skills on the internship program, in particular relationship and whole leadership skills. These skills will benefit me throughout my career and allow me to progress. I also developed analytical skills on this internship, which will be hugely useful in my final year at university and beyond.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in the office far exceeded me expectations. There were plenty of socials during my time at PwC including a night at the pub then cricket and a sports day. Participation in these events was encouraged and it was great fun to be a part of. The beer trolley on a friday afternoon was a great addition!

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There was a clear structure to the induction into the internship. Throughout my time here I was placed on new clients each week, with different tasks expected of me. The internal systems were so well organised there were no hiccups or confusion regarding the structure or organisation of my time at PwC.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was given opportunity to work in Durham for a week, with hotels and food full subsidised. This was a useful learning experience into life at PwC. We spent a whole week purely on inductions in hotels in Windsor and then in the office in Leeds. Our development was heavily invested in.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    Working from home

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Future employment prospects are very appealing within PwC. Many interns get offered a graduate job. There are plenty of opportunities to not only move within departments but also move between offices. This flexibility of the graduate offer process is extremely appealing as the opportunities available are so widespread and transparent.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The social scene at PwC is the best I have ever experienced. Everybody goes to the same bar after work, and there is a beer trolley going around the office come 4pm on fridays. There are plenty of social events to attend also. During my time at PwC, we had a night at the cricket and a sports day.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I stayed in my student house in Leeds so I didn't have to spend any additional funds on accomodation. Due to the cheap nature of drinks in Leeds, all of us interns were able to have regular nights out and often went for dinner together. I believe this really aided my enjoyment of the internship.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife in Leeds is amongst the best in the country. There are plenty of options for all budgets and tastes. There are plenty of fancy and normal restaurants alongside many, many pubs clubs and bars. Alongside the famous otley run! There is plenty of choice, all tastes are accommodated for in Leeds.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were lots of opportunities to get involved in activities outside of PwC. There were great charity initiatives, a FIFA tournament and sports teams to be involved in. We also had a sports day during my time in the office whereby everyone competed in school sports day activities and went to the pub after.
