    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed the internship. The residential induction is a great way to get to know a lot of the interns throughout the country. Then the experience of working at PwC was great. Everyone would take time out to speak to me just to introduce themselves and give me insight into their work.

    3/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleagues were always very grateful whenever I assisted them on a task or job. A lot of audit work takes a lot of time, so the more people helping the better. The team I worked with really welcomed me into the team and treated me as a real member.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given a lot of support and guidance from my supervisors / managers. Whenever I had any queries or wanted some background to the job, they made time to explain it to me. Through the chat feature available, you could easily reach out to anyone for help or advice.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • At the start of the internship, I wasn't very busy. However as it progressed I made more contacts in the company, so I could reach out for more work when I had some free time. Although perhaps the earlier internship in June would be busier, as a lot of people in PwC and at our clients go on holiday in August.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given quite a lot of responsibility. I was able to work on client work straight away. Although some tasks were quite straightforward and simple, they are always useful to the team who work on that job.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I developed my communication skills, as I frequently talked and emailed people who were more senior than me. This a very useful skill, which I will make the most of in my future jobs and when talking to my lecturers at university. I feel like I have improved my writing style as well. I now easily think about who I am writing to and what is appropriate. This will really help me wherever I go next.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There is a great atmosphere in the office. When you need to get work done quickly you can easily focus. You can sit with your team to easily bounce off work ideas or queries. There is an area on every floor where you can casually meet people and grab a coffee.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The induction side of the internship was organised very well. When I started my team manager reached out to me and met me to show me round. There was also a buddy assigned so any questions you had you could ask them. It was easy to reach out to any resources needed, including resourcing.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm really believes in you. And your application is for you and your future not just the internship. The training available is great. The residential induction the firm put on was an amazing way to start the internship. There were many networking opportunities and quite a lot of senior staff at the firm took time out to meet us.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Working from home

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The future employment prospects are really good here at PwC. The grad scheme looks like a really nice way to start a career. The are so many opportunities available in PwC, most you don't even know about yet. There are so many different teams and different clients, that even if you don't quite like something there will be something else.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Every lunch time all the interns in my division had lunch together. We explored the neighbouring area during lunch and after. We occasionally grabbed drinks after work with other colleagues. Because you form such good friendships in the induction, it is easy to enjoy the rest of the placement even if you are not working on the same floor for example.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is expensive but everyone knows this. And you just have to be a bit more creative. For example there are always deals or discounts to take advantage of.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • 3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • 3/5
