    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have really enjoyed being able to have great exposure to the senior bankers at the firm as well as the clients. Moreover, I was staffed on a very interesting deal where I was able to attend client meetings. I have worked with really inspiring and great team through the internship

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was very valued by the colleagues. This was confirmed by the tasks that I have been allocated and the feedback that I have received afterwards. I was really treated as a full team member during the whole time at the company. Therefore I have been invited to all the calls and meetings.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Indeed, there was a great guidance by the team members as well as HR. Every time something was unclear I was able to approach other analysts and they were always extremely helpful as well as willing to explain. I was never judged if I didn't know something and it was always fine to ask.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was very busy all the time. If I wasn't doing my main project I always had some smaller projects going on which I was completing while waiting for feedback or mark-up of other things. This is investment banking after all so everyone needs to expect that you work long hours.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a lot of responsibility. I had some sections of the material to prepare which was later given to the client. Moreover, I was given a chance to attend the clients meetings and client calls where I needed to track everything what was said in the meetings by the senior management.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I feel that there were lots of skills that were developed during 10 weeks at the company. Definitely, one of the main important skills that you learn is time management and multi tasking. Moreover, you get to know in more detail some of the valuation techniques as well as how to prepare a presentation with strong message.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was all fine. I feel however that there could have been more social activities in the team more often. Sill, there were Friday drinks with the team and a social event where everyone from the junior team was going as well as even some senior staff of the team was present.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship as organised very well. There was HR guidance throughout and there were various meetings and presentations for the interns to learn more about the other teams. There was also a fundraising challange which was a great experience to get to know other interns on the floor and do something together.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company has provided a 3 day training organised by an external provider which was a very good starting point for us to pick up some financial knowledge. Moreover, we all had individual access to the databases which were supporting our work a lot. People have also invested a lot of time.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I have received a great feedback form everyone in the team and therefore I feel that the chances are not small. However, it is all up to the company and the number of people they decide to intake to their graduate programme which may be different than the number of positive feedback people receive

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, there was a very good social scene. We were going out for Friday drinks with the team and a social event where everyone from the junior team was going as well as even some senior staff of the team was present. You could also go for lunch with other co workers
