  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Loved the desk and the job. HSBC is N*1 in Metals Sales & Trading and it shows

  • Depends on your team but people are a lot more kind and open than in american/french banks

  • Depends on your team again but mine was extremely supportive and reachable

  • Busy but not swamped with work. Hours are 7-18h, you can really leave a 6pm most of the days.

  • Not much but because as an intern I cannot book trades so that limits your responsabilities

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Learnt more than in my Masters in Finance

  • Depends on your desk but overall extremely fun and I loved coming to work everyday

  • Perfect. Hands up the best HR team I have seen. Everything was top notch.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes! Luckily we had only a couple of interns who didn't go out with us but the rest were always open for an afterwork.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is expensive.

  • Very good but not as good as Paris :)

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • In Markets we finish quite early so you can do anything you want after 6pm.
