  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Quite enjoyable - overall very good experience.

  • I felt like my team considered me like a normal (non-intern) colleague - which was great !

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My direct supervisor in my team was also my line manager, so we were very much in contact and I was given all the support I needed.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Because I was given my own responsibilities, I was in charge of my schedule. The tasks given to me meant I always had something to do.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given my own part of the team project - which no one else was working on. This included data cleaning, research, data analysis etc.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Most importantly I gained interpersonal skills and organisational skills. I also learned to use Stata proficiently.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The team was very nice and sociable.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Most things went very smoothly. There were a few hicckups in terms of getting laptops/access to emails etc at the start of the internship.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I got to attend several training sessions on competition economics, as well as a job interview workshop. Otherwise, there was not much investment needed for the scope of the work I had to do.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Fellow interns got along very well and organised several socials. My team also organised a few socials.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Reasonable for London

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The area is in Westfield Stratford but close to Hackney Wick where there are a lot of bars.

  • There are, but I did not get involved
