    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Great experience, friendliest place to work, with stimulating work and always kept busy with a range of things to do.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone very invested in what I was doing, was able to do a project with a real impact to the business which everyone cared about.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Everyone very willing to give help, rarely were people too busy to help, and if they were they'd always arrange another time to meet.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Some days busier than others, but the onus is on you to sort your work out and schedule, which is good responsibility to have but you have to make sure you are organised.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Project wasn't contrived and had a real impact on the business, and was carried on after I left by someone else, so it wasn't just discarded.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Learnt some invaluable technical skills. Great if you want to learn some more unique coding skills such as Matlab and SQL. Lots of skills that will I will take with me at university and in my future career.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Really fun, very relaxed but also very hard working. Drinks were often organised on a Friday and pay day drinks in the office once a month.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Totally well organised - my team had planned my project meticulously but also left it with me to decide where I wanted to take it. Never felt disorganised.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Definite atmosphere of training in the hope that if suitable, we'd want to come back to the business in the future.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • 5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes - very young office with a lot of fun people who enjoy going out and doing things outside the office.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I live in London anyway, but if you live in Welwyn its not the cheapest place as it is a commuter town, so rent is quite high.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Didn't live in the area where I worked, but there were a few pubs - mostly people went out in London as the train was only 20 minutes.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Lots of socials organised by the department, and pub trips weekly.

    4/5
