    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The Team I worked with were terrific! Everyone including all the Directors were very approachable and easy to talk to. I loved going on site and the team were more than happy to accommodate that. They were all willing to provide guidance and support throughout my placement! I couldn't have asked for more.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt very valued even though I was only there for 4 weeks. I obviously didn't have the same skillset as everyone else but I everyone I worked with was willing to listen and answer any questions I had. Any thoughts or ideas that I might had were paid attention and taken on board.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • What I really valued about my team was that no one assumed I knew everything. They were all happy to see how inquisitive I was and responded to that very positively. They were very in depth with answering all of my questions and I got the sense that they all wanted me to do well within the team and learn quickly.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I loved the amount of work there was. The first day I was there, people tried to gauge how much I actually knew but when they saw I was eager to learn and work, they were more than happy to give me several tasks that were achievable but still challenged me.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given the amount of responsibility that I could handle. No one pushed me hard to take on more than what I was comfortable with but I was challenged with some of the work I did. I had the option to jump in the deep end but this was not without the supervision and guidance of someone who was senior.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • This was probably the most valuable aspect of doing this placement. It not only gives you an insight into what your future career will be but leaves you far better informed for when you return to university. We were also required to do a presentation which helped my confidence in my presentation skills. I had the opportunity to get feedback from real professionals which are transferable for the work I would do at university.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office was open plan which meant that I got to see all the different teams that worked on your floor and I managed to get to know people outside of my team as well.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • This was superb. There were several departmental overviews that had been organised for us throughout the placement so that we got to understand what everyone at the company does. There were 2 city tours organised as well which got all the interns together and out of the office. On top of this, we had drinks organised for us so that we all had the chance to get to know each other and bond.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Even though I was based in London, the company was willing to pay for me to go onsite to places outside of London like Canterbury and Brighton. They also paid for my travel expenses within London as well. I also had one of the directors stay late to help me with a report I was writing and to sit and explain things that I didn't fully understand.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very appealing. Its been great getting to know the people that you might potentially work with in the future. My team were all wonderful and I was left wanting to work with them again.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • YES! The interns got to get together and have drinks which was organised by the company. This helped us break the ice and afterwards we were able to arrange meet ups ourselves.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I live in London which is expensive so I this didn't really change anything for me.

    4/5
