    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have absolutely loved my 10 week summer placement at L'Oréal. I have been given a lot of responsibility which I value very highly and we are seen as just another member of the organisation, not a lower down intern.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Your colleagues rely on you just as much as any other employee so therefore you are required to perform constantly - just like any work environment

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager was the most incredible manager I have had and I have worked in 7 different offices. He helped me with any query emphasising that no question was a stupid question. With every piece of work there was a sense of achievement coming from him and he gave back constructive advice excellently and non-threateningly. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is a legend, no exaggeration.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I had a comfortable level of work throughout my time at L'Oréal. When people give you work, you are fully entitled to say that you wont be able to meet their expectations for a deadline for example.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given the responsibility of a Product Brand Manager which was absolutely incredible and it drove me to reach expectations.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The marketing knowledge I learnt from my placement will be invaluable throughout the rest of my career.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Our office is constantly buzzing, with areas you can escape to if need be. Its a perfect balance

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was very well organised. The hand-over of previous interns to current interns was generally seamless and a very efficient process to teach new interns the working of the L'Oréal systems.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • My favourite days at L'Oréal were the days with the most learning. L'Oréal sub-contracted some training like 'How to act in the workplace' and reading the different types of people in the office and how to deal with them. They were all brilliant

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    Working from home

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very high. There is a lot to be learnt and achieved at L'Oréal by anyone.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There have been intern socials which are great for socialising but there could have been more in my opinion

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is very expensive in general

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I never went out in Hammersmith

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There are sporting teams organised like football and netball
