The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed it. There has been a great mix of challenging, interesting work, freebies, and a great team to work with and atmosphere
My project was of genuine value and I felt like I had actual work to do.
I was given support by my line manager, my line managers manager, my line manager's manager's manager and my buddy. There was an extensive structure in place to make sure I was ok.
Busy almost every day. The 9-5 was filled
My project was entirely my own. It was my responsibility to get it finished and to do the work in my own time.
Not really in my degree but that was the point. I wanted to learn new skills and I have. I will no longer be worried about taking on new tasks and challenges that require new skills
The Company
Friendly, hard-working, focussed
Very well. Everything organised
Quite a lot
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
Pretty appealing if you want to learn about the supply chain of Britain's largest retailer
The Culture
The team as a whole is pretty young and they organised a couple of socials for us which was nice. The other interns were great, it was really nice to feel happy to just send a text and go the pub on a Friday or something like that
Cost of living in Welwyn is relatively expensive, but not London. I lived in Hatfield for 6 weeks of the internship which is cheaper but is a bit of a hole
Welwyn Garden city has a couple of pubs. Mostly we went to London for work socials.
yes. There are many teams and events going on that you can do if you want to.
