    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I worked in an office where there was a real sense of team spirit so it didn’t really feel like work! You do long hours but you get to drive lots of nice cars which is a good bonus!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleagues were always willing and able to help me whenever I asked for help whilst I was still learning what to do in certain situations. I never felt scared to ask anyone for help.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager was always helpful with everything that’s I asked and was friendly and approachable even when he was busy.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I worked in one of the busier branches but I didn’t feel overburdened - it just makes the day go quickly!

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was assigned certain tasks to complete or delegate on a day to day basis which made me feel like a full team member rather than just a three month intern.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The internship highlighted the importance of customer satisfaction and a business and how the lack of it can have a serious impact.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Really friendly! I got on with everyone and had a good time at work.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There was a fantastic training program at head office which was well thought out and answered a lot of my questions before going to the branch. It also meant that I had a fairly good understanding of things before my official start date.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I had a 30 day review and an exit interview. In addition to weekly conversations with my manager it meant that I always had something that I could be working on to improve.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • They only promote from within so there are lots of career opportunities.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We all got on well and there were fairly regular branch and area nights out.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Chelmsford is fairly expensive compared to other areas but having lived in the area for a few years before starting the job I was used to it.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Lots of things to do.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • We had branch nights out with fun activities and team building work - with food, drink and activities all funded by the company.

    4/5
