  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • Very much so. Very well organised and enjoyable.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?

    • All of the fee-earners made me feel valued throughout the week and made me responsible for important pieces of work.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?

    • During the scheme we were assigned supervisors who were responsible for providing us with work to complete. Upon completion of the work they were always happy to provide as much feedback as possible- good and bad! I felt this greatly benefited my development personally, better understanding my strengths and weaknesses.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • Massively.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • Very well structured. On the first day we received a detailed timetable for the two week period. This included talks with a variety of different fee-earners at the firm, opportunities to network and better understand parts of the firm we may not have direct experience in.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?

    • Extremely friendly and welcoming, yet one which encouraged hard work!

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • At the end of each week we were responsible for completing a self-assessment feedback form. This was useful to see where we had done well and where we could make improvements.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?

    • Very much so. All of the work I received during the two weeks was well thought out, focused on tasks trainees at the firm received on a daily basis.

    • During the scheme we were given many opportunities to meet with senior leaders at the firm. As a result we could better appreciate the direction of the firm, its aims and importantly, the values it stood by.

    • Extremely. I was able to experience both contentious and non-contentious work whilst at the firm. As a result I now have a better appreciation for which areas of the law I can see myself working in.
