    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed it very mich- the ge values are really shown through and emulated throughout the site and that culture was a very enjoyable and fun environment to work in everyday. My role was very varied and challenging so everyday was not the same or reputiive which made my job more enjoyable.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I feel very valued by my collegaues. It waa difficult as my manager and rest of team was overseas as it is such a global company - i was the only based in the uk but the site manager and the rest of the i lnterns knew that so they would always involve and include in site activity

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Vey high extent- my manager would always have weekly catchups to see how my week has gone and if i need any guidance. People are very open and transparent and always willing to help with anything. We also got assigned a buddy and a mentor which was a nice transition intobthe working world

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was very busy everyday- my role was very demanding and challenging. I had to do a lot of presentations with senior team leaders and help a lot around the site with the engagment affinty groups. It was the perfect balance between fun and work all the tine at work which made it more enjoyable

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was running the show. I was given a alot of responsibility from my managera and collegaues. People would always come to me for advice from various stakeholders and cash and collections teams. I was in charge of tranining cash team and got involved in various projects for my global team

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • It will help me very much. I have a very realistic of the working corporate world and how to handle my self in that environment. I have developed my communication and team work skills to be able to dral very well with challenging circustances and differing opinions with a multicultural site

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The fun never stopped . There was always something going on at the site, always events , always getting busy with my challenging core role and the affinity groups on site. We always have volunteering and fun day outs and engagements with the site and the rest of the UK interns

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Not very organised , there was not a real true structure to the different intern events. The l and d team didn’t do very much and the interns had to do a lot of the leg work in making things that they really wanted to happen happen for them So not great in that respect

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They don’t really do a lot in terms of personal training and development. We had development calls monthly and different things every monthly or two weeks. But it wasn’t that great and didnt give us that much training or development it was very generic things that was not very personal to me as an intern inmy specific role.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Not very appealing !!! The company is going through a very big restructuring and has been letting a lot of it valuable employees which did not make a lot i of sense. There are literally no graduate opportunities for interns except for be FMP OR CMP and those programmes are not great

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Very good always something to do with the affinity groups

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I stayed at home so it was very cheap for me and we always had intern nigh outs

  • Not very - where the office is based it is not based town but in the middle of nowhere

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yeah we had volunteering and very affinity groups that caused you to be involved in oops outside of work
