CS&O analyst Review

I really enjoyed by internship. Having individual and project work really helped focus me and gave me a chance to get to know the other interns. This also meant that even if other work you were doing was not as exciting, you could always be busy.

I did feel valued as I know the work I did is done by a lot of the new employees and talking to more senior members they say they remember doing the same work when they first started. The work I was doing was being used as I did it and they made it clear that the work I was doing was very necessary.

Although my manager and I weren't in the office at the same time much, I did feel supported as I know I could always get into contact with them. I was also given another mentor who helped me a lot with inductions and tech. I would have liked to have a few more one to one's but I did feel like I got a lot of support and feedback.

Because we also had our individual projects and CSR challenge and extra tasks like conundrums edge just for interns, even if you didn't have much work, there was always something you could be working on. Towards the end (last 2 weeks), the amount of work did drop dramatically as I had finished the majority of the work.

I felt like I was always treated like an adult and left to get on with my work, but I also knew that if I needed any help I could ask.

I think I learnt so much whilst being here, not only about myself but also office life. I had numerous career development workshops to help boost my entrepreneurial skills, my leadership skills etc. I had to push myself out of my comfort zone by doing presentations, but I can 100% say I improved in them and also my confidence in asking questions and how to conduct myself in an office environment.

Everyone was very kind and chatty, dress code was quite laid back. Wish there was more team bonding events etc

Mixed, even my line manager was confused on what my final presentation was meant to be. Within the interns I know we all had different experiences based on how far your line manager is willing you to go to see other areas of the bank and new experiences. The line managers were organised but I don't think early careers team had enough communication and clarity with them.

Lots, with EDA, influencing workshops, the Hackathon. I also went around England visiting lots of places, which I really enjoyed and allowed me to see a wider area of the bank. I felt like if I ever asked to see or do anything it was really encouraged and I benefited a lot from this.

I feel like there are lots of opportunities within the bank

Yes, we were really lucky and had a good bunch of interns, everyone was confident and friendly. As most people were living away from home, we all made a lot of effort to see each other out side of work. We definitely built strong friendships and will be staying in contact.

I wasn't in London so it wasn't awful, but finding a place to live was hard.

Really good, went to a lot of places with the interns and we went out a lot.

I don't think there was that many opportunities for other activities outside work, there was one charity football event. But I don't play football. Outside that although I joined the womens network and others there were no events where I was based. They were mostly in Edinburgh or London, which was annoying as I feel like I missed out on some other opportunities like the coding club.
