    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have loved every second of my placement, it has been an incredible and very rewarding experience. You would never be bored working at Warner Bros. (Filmbankmedia), It could be challenging at times but I would say that’s one of the best parts of it! You could achieve big things while working with a wonderful bunch of highly experienced people.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I have always felt very valued by my colleagues, I have never felt like 'just an intern'. In this Role, you would have the opportunity to look after certain tasks that are key for the development of the day to day business, therefore your contributions would be important and appreciated.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Warner Bros. has an excellent training program in place with several sessions throughout the year such as “Developing Thing Skills”, “Presenting me”, MBTI... The last of these sessions includes a skill review for the internship year, exit interviews, preparing for the change ahead and building your CV and interviewing skills for the future. In addition, I have closely worked with my manager and two supervisors that have guided and developed me making the most of my time at Warner Bros. Thanks to their training, I have gained an invaluable knowledge of the business world and my career plans have completely changed.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I have always been as busy as I wanted, meaning that there are so many things to do that you could be super busy if that’s what you like! Although my responsibilities have growth through the year, I have never felt it was too much or I wasn’t able to manage my workload. On the other hand, I am part of a very collaborative team and we are able to cover each other’s work if needed.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • One of my initial responsibilities was take on key accounts and accept accountability for delivery. Although always guided and supported, from the beginning I was expected to take ownership of my key accounts and develop my projects to a high standard. As the intern working in multiple sectors, I had to manage work given to me by different managers and co-workers. This can at times be challenging but also very satisfying when managed to balance the various demands.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I would say the biggest impact has been the development of my self-awareness and the learning process of how to look at myself objectively for a better understanding of what my goals, plans, and priorities are. This years has given me an overview of what my strengths are and where I do need to put the time and effort to improve.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It is definitely a fun and friendly environment to be in. Filmbankmedia is made up by an international group of nice and happy people who enjoy socialising at work or after work. Also, the Warner Bros. placement program has a big group of Interns and Apprentices that work together, life together and enjoy life together!

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organised. I have always known what was going or what was coming next. HR is constantly sending up updates and calendar invites to arrange training sessions and informing us of all processes or changes. They are very easy to reach out or have a chat with! Constantly available.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Perhaps not as much as I would have liked to. Some of the courses or training sessions outside the Interns programs cost money, but they may not be available for Interns -it could depend on departments. But again, the Interns training program is very complete and competitive so it is the professional training.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very appealing, there are so many opportunities within the Company. After a year here, I have been able to make a lot of contacts and meet very interesting people. There are many current workers that have previously been Interns, which means that the Company is also interested in having Interns back

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes of course there is! On one hand, there is always something going on with the many other Interns and apprentices starting at the same time. There are nights out, lunches, dinners… But it is very common for every department to socialise after work every now and then too, we are all very sociable people!

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I think we all know how expensive London can be. Depending on where you come from, the different can be less or more but I would say the placement remuneration allows you to cover expenses and socialising. It is only for a year and ii am probably in a similar position than at Uni.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • It is a nice area to go for a drink or two after work but I don’t have much experience in this area. But it is London anyway, that means that you could find everything that you wish for! London Nightlife is varied and not always expensive. It is a fun city to live in.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes, we receive frequent updates of activities that we could get involved with. There are several charities that Warner Bros. collaborate with and thing that we can do with those charities. There are also more specific projects that we can volunteer for. The Company also sponsor us for outdoor activities to promote health habits.
