The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship. The working atmosphere is always upbeat and my colleagues and the recruitment and learning teams were always a pleasure to be around.
I felt extremely valued by my colleagues as well as the recruitment and learning teams. I was always made to feel welcome and that the work I was doing was valued and beneficial.
My management and supervisors gave me a perfect amount of support and guidance. My line manager reserved a desk for me next to her so that could ask any question I had at any point. My director would always make time to speak to me if I needed his assistance, and the learning team were always available to help me with anything that I needed.
I had a perfect balance. Me and the other interns would regularly have informative talks and networking events which would nicely break up the working week. When working on my projects I had enough to keep me busy but I was never overloaded with work.
I was given quite a great deal of responsibility. I was given my project areas and the teams and contacts that I would most likely need to speak to. After this I was independent, I could take the project in any direction I wanted and follow any leads I thought were suitable.
The skills that I have developed during the internship will greatly assist me in my degree studies and far beyond that. I have developed skills around proactively using my time, being efficient, technology and searching for specific information across a wide range of sources.
