  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • As KPMG is a high-performing environment, I found myself being stretched as I asked many questions. I found this to be incredibly helpful especially since my goal was to grow professionally and personally.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • From speaking to individuals in advisory, I gained an insight into the approach they used to break down problems. I used one of their methods and found it worked perfectly for me! I will certainly be using it in during my degree studies.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • It was thoroughly structured. There was something to do each time, relevant to the purpose of the insight. For example, we had a personal branding session along with a case study and a work shadowing opportunity.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I wish we had tasks or activities to do during the work shadowing sessions, to be able to gain further depth into the types of work done at KPMG. The audit session is an example of what I wish there was more of. During the sessions, we reviewed financial statements from different organisations and tried to guess the types of organisations the financial statements belonged to. This was really helpful, as a powerpoint alone would not have been sufficient enough in helping me decide if I wanted to pursue audit as division/career. However, the activity impacted my decision and now I am considering audit as a possible choice.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • It helped a lot as we were able to hear from different speakers. The chance to speak to employees was also made possible outside of the office, as I spoke to other individuals during lunchtimes and break times. This certainly gave me further insight into the company culture.
