I really enjoyed the insight week and it was made more enjoyable by the people, both the KPMG staff and the BHTW cohort. The structure of the week flowed very well too so it never felt that we were stagnant at any point which I believe helped towards the week's enjoyment.

I felt valued during my whole time at KPMG which was helped by how open the staff were to sharing their career choices and career experiences with everyone. Our supervisors were also open to answering any questions we had. Occasional questions from passing staff also helped me feel more valued.

I received a lot of guidance during the insight week in terms of guiding me towards my final career decision. The staff who talked to us during the presentations and networking drinks were very open which helped towards this as they were able to successfully answer any queries I had.

Through the information I received during this insight week it has consolidated my decision to work in the financial industry. In terms of my degree studies, the insight week will lead me to choosing more finance related modules for next year so that I have a better understanding and more practice when I come into the industry.

I thought the insight week contained all of the necessary content we needed to know however at times I thought there were too many talks in a row and it would have been beneficial to spread these out a bit and input some financial group activities in between the talks.

The general atmosphere was great during the insight week from the morning until the end of the day. This was due to our supervisors and also the very enthusiastic cohort that we had. The majority of the talks we received were also delivered with great energy which helped towards the general atmosphere.

I thought the company really invested in our personal training and development because there were many important people in the firm who spared their time to educate us on the business and their roles at KPMG. Although, I have been to similar insight weeks where a third party were hired to provide educational activities which could have possibly been done here.

I feel that the insight week provided a good understanding of what it would be like to have a full time role with the company. However I feel that this could have been made more comprehensive if staff were more open to giving their negative experiences as well as the positives.

The insight week really helped me to understand the company culture because I was able to see how staff communicated with each other in the work environment. The staff we talked to also gave us detailed information on what the company culture is like on a daily basis at the firm.

Yes, from the very first day we were presented to people from all parts of the firm and at varying seniority levels who we could talk to and network with. This was a continuous trend throughout every day of the insight week. In addition to this, there was a dedicated networking drinks event where KPMG staff came to talk to us.

Yes, I would recommend this insight week to a friend because it provides you with the insight and information needed to make a decision on whether working in the corporate world is for you. This is helped by the information provided by supervisors and staff. You also have the opportunity to network with many great people at the firm.
