    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Savills have really provided me with the best experience of property yet. The summer scheme was well though out and defiantly put us through our paces. Everyone has been so friendly and welcoming. The social aspect has been great as well, I have been to many social events and made many contacts.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I think I felt as valued as I could be, being an intern. I would have loved to be given more responsibility however I completely understand that they can only give me so much to do as I am only here for a month. I think I would have liked more chances to show them that of could of done more important work to help them out.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My mentor has been amazing! From day one she has been so helpful in guiding me on what I have to get done. I really felt that my mentor cared about me doing well which gave me a massive confidence boost. The HR have also been very helpful through out and have always been in contact to check up on us.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I have to say I was not given much responsibility but I understand that my team work on high profile projects so It is very hard to give me responsibility within just a month. I also don't really expect to be given much responsibility, I would not want to make a fundamental mistake.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • For my case as I study Real Estate Management for my degree, it was more about enforcing my academic studies into the working life of property. I think the main skill was my people skills and making long term contacts within Savills. My appraisal skills have defiantly improved from doing that day to day.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Well being in central London it was always going to be very expensive. I was very lucky not to have to pay too much for rent as I was living with a friend however if I had too I would of been very tight on money. I think everyone expects London to be pricy .
