About You
I really enjoyed meeting all the employees and getting to know them. Everyone was very welcoming and easy to get a long with.
I felt very valued by the incharges and Managers. Everyone spoke to me regularly and listened to everything I had to say.
I was given a lot of guidance from my performance manager and the various people I was shadowing.
Skills such as time management and communication have definitely been improved and will come in handy with my further studies.
The Company
The insight was well structured for the first half. The second half was a little less structured but that was down to people being very busy due to it being the busy season that I had my vacation scheme during.
The general atmosphere was good, I always felt comfortable and felt that I could ask anyone for help.
They invested a lot; I had online training to do and virtual classrooms to attend that really aided me in understanding how to smoothly integrate myself into the busy work environment that is KPMG.
Since, I spent a lot of time shadowing people and helping out with audits, IU gained a great insight of the day to day life of KPMG. Plus, having spoken to KPMG employees I gained a good insight into a full time role with the company.
The culture of KPMG became very clear from day one in my internship as the offices are very open planned and so I could ask many people very quickly and get a good sense of what the atmosphere is like at KPMG.
It was valuable because I was doing actual audit work and contributing to the audit sector as a whole. So it really gave me a real life snapshot of what it would be like to work at KPMG. This definitely helped me to decide to on my future career path.
Everything Else
My expenses have been reimbursed but my vacation scheme has not finished so I have not been paid yet.
There was a chance at the start of the vacation scheme to network at the start at the induction in Canary Wharf. There was also a social event in Manchester as well.
I have not yet attended a social event yet, only one was arranged during my time at KPMG and it is later this week.
Yes I did, I found out about the various clubs and societies that you can join as an employee at KPMG.
Yes I would, it is a great way to meet people at KPMG and also a great way to have a small insight in the way KPMG works. So anyone interested in a career at KPMG I would recommend them to do the vacation scheme so they can see if the culture matches them,
