    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • My time at KPMG has pushed me further than I thought it would. It put me in situations that I had not experienced before and it is because of this that I feel like I have grown both as an individual and a professional businessman. Overall, very enjoyable.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Whilst it was a slow start to the Project I was working on (due to client side delays), I felt that my value to the team increased exponentially in my final few weeks at KPMG. My colleagues confidence in my work also increased, which was very positive to see.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Every single individual I met whilst at KPMG have been approachable and extremely helpful. They have gone beyond answer questions and making me feel welcome.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The work I have completed at KPMG have not been related to my degree in any way. However, I am sure that it will benefit me if I am fortunate enough to come back and work for the company

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Considering that I have had something to do everyday when coming into the office and that I seldom have to ask for work suggests that the insight was very well structured. The first day in particular (welcome day) ran noticeably smoothly.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was usually very positive. On the odd occasion, it may become tense and slightly stressful when dealing with mundane tasks or difficult deadlines. Nevertheless, the atmosphere never fails to pick itself back up again.

    4/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I feel there is only so much that one person can retain/learn in four weeks. Comparing myself now to the person who joined 3/4 weeks ago, I can confidently say that I have learnt a lot. For this to be the case, the firm and its workers must have invested in me.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Whilst I did learn a lot, there is still so much I do not know.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Considering I only had 4 weeks (25 days) here at the company, the insight was very effective at ensuring that KPMG's culture was made clear whenever possible.

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I have thoroughly enjoyed this experience and hope that my colleagues have benefited from me being around. I am keen to come back and learn more about KPMG and its culture.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Definitely. The company set up social events throughout the four weeks which provided ample opportunity to network with fellow interns. My project team were also incredibly sociable and so I was able to network with them and their contacts after work.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The main social event is tomorrow, so I cannot make a comment

    3/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • I have been so focused on bettering my knowledge of audit and ensuring that I get along with my team and other interns that I have not had time to find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work. I am very keen to though.

    3/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would recommend this insight to a friend if they were interested in seeing how a big organisation works in the world of finance.
